Welcome to the Sparta Area Pickleball Association

Sparta Area Pickleball Association, a non-profit association that is passionate about providing a vibrant and welcoming community for pickleball enthusiasts from all skill levels. Located in the heart of Sparta, we offer a variety of opportunities to play, learn, and connect through this exciting sport.

The Sparta Memorial Pickleball courts feature 8 courts open every day from Dawn to 10pm. Fee or
club membership NOT required.

  2. Interested in being a member? The annual fee to join our association is $20.  
    Everyone is welcome.  Membership gets you discounts on OUTDOOR tournament play, free OUTDOOR league play and special events play as well as free learn to play sessions! Membership fees go towards court maintenance, balls, future projects such as lights, benches, leaf blower, little free library for free to borrow paddles, crushed asphalt for parking and other projects the board finds beneficial to all players.  

  3. Don't have a paddle? Come and play! Our Association has extra paddles and balls at the Sparta Memorial Pickleball courts and the Barney Center. In addition, many players carry an additional paddle or two - and for the most part, they will not only lend you their paddle, but help teach you how to play the game! We are a friendly bunch who love to have a good time while playing the game. We will also have plenty of balls to play with.

  4. What can you bring? Good tennis court shoes!! Running and walking shoes don't provide the good stability you need to play a game and not risking rolling an ankle. Please bring some water to drink (in an enclosed bottle), a towel if you get sweaty, sunglasses if outside.

What equipment do I need to start playing pickleball?

To start playing pickleball, you'll need a paddle and a pickleball. We recommend comfortable athletic attire and court shoes.

Paddles and balls are availble to use for FREE at the courts!! Please return items when you are finished playing.

How do I sign up for a class or tournament?

You can sign up for our classes or tournaments through our website or by contacting our group directly. Watch for postings on our Facebook page. Spaces may be limited, so early registration is advised.
